Laguna Dance Festival Brings Color, Energy

The Laguna Dance Festival continues to inspire, entertain and engage, as its annual fundraising event, “Visual Immersion,” drew 185 guests. Ardent dance fans gathered at the elegant seven-degrees venue on June 20 for an evening of celebration, which honored Desmond Richardson, a renowned choreographer and dancer, as well as one of the festival’s longtime partners. As guests entered the venue, they were welcomed with Champagne before a gourmet buffet-style dinner. Afterward, a vibrant performance by professional dancers entertained guests as large video screens displayed colorful images of dancers’ movements to music—a truly “visual immersion” into the art of dance. Additionally, dancers performed pop-up movement pieces around the venue, which created a more intimate, interactive environment between dancers and guests. Laguna Dance Festival’s fall offerings, which will be held at The Laguna Playhouse, include Parsons Dance (Sept. 5 – 6 at 7:30 p.m.) and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.) —A.T.
