The Laguna Bluebelt Coalition and the Susi Q Senior Center joined together July 31 in debuting “Another Day in Paradise,” a collection of scenic photographs captured by the winners of the Second Annual Bluebelt Photo Contest. Guests of the event—aptly held at the Susi Q Gallery—enjoyed a selection of wine and seafood appetizers as well as raffles, one of which included the prize of a glass sea star designed by local artist John Barber. Many of the artists featured in the exhibition attended the soiree in support of their pieces, which celebrate the remarkable beauty of Laguna’s coastal landscape, tidepools and underwater environments. Nadia Babayi, executive director of the Susie Q Senior Center, said of her organization’s instrumental role in the evening: “We appreciate the work of the Bluebelt Coalition in protecting [and] restoring the marine life and look forward to continuing our partnership.” The exhibition will remain on view at the Susi Q Gallery through Sept. 6. —T.E.
