LCAD’s 23rd Annual Collector’s Choice Gala raises $200,000 for Student Programs
It was a magical night in white and gold at the Laguna College of Art & Design’s 23rd annual Collectors Choice gala. More than 500 guests enjoyed a four-course gourmet dinner from Laguna Culinary Arts, surrounded by stunning décor designed by Emmy-nominated LCAD trustee, Nelson Coates (whose gold lamé suit set the perfect tone for the whole evening). Guests had the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and raffle of more than 100 works of art from local artists, including LCAD professors and students. A live auction featured works by renowned artists, including Richard MacDonald and Kathy Jones. The evening raised a record $200,000 to benefit student programs and scholarships—a masterpiece indeed. —Christopher Schulz
