Conservation, education and restoration are always top of mind for Crystal Cove Alliance supporters, but on Sept. 26, more than 400 individuals enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate the nonprofit’s efforts spanning the last year. The Moonlight Gala, held at sunset on a bluff overlooking Crystal Cove, is the organization’s 13th annual fundraising event. A cocktail hour treated guests to hors d’oeuvres from Fig & Olive as they bid on silent auction items. They were then invited into a tent for a seated three-course dinner prepared by The Resort at Pelican Hill, as well as a live auction that included items such as a private cruise along Crystal Cove’s Marine Protected Area. Other evening highlights included a performance by up-and-coming jazz singer Brenna Whitaker, a multimedia program showcasing the nonprofit’s successes and new initiatives, an opportunity drawing for a three-night stay in a historic beachfront cottage, and a live band to entertain attendees as they danced the night away. The event raised more than $325,000 for Crystal Cove Alliance’s programs and restoration efforts. (crystalcovealliance.org)
