Elena Bulatova Fine Art, which opened in November, made its grand debut during First Thursdays Art Walk that month. The new and contemporary exhibit space displays colorful pop art pieces crafted by the Russian artist and her partner, Efraim Mashiah. Other artists showcasing their work at the new gallery include Mr. Santo, a sculptor, and Virut P., a figure painter and collagist. While Bulatova says she chose to open the gallery in Laguna because of the town’s great artist community, she explains that she plans to bring something new to the region as well, with a focus on international art. The Laguna Beach location marks Bulatova’s third exhibit space, following the openings of a Las Vegas showroom and a gallery in Palm Springs, where the artist currently resides.
