More than 300 charitable members of the community attended the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach’s 13th Annual Art of Giving Gala on May 11, in support of Laguna’s underprivileged youth. Held at Montage Laguna Beach, the Cirque du Xinzàng (Circus of the Heart)-themed affair brought Eastern influences to the West Coast and netted more than $500,000, marking the event as the most successful fundraising gala in the club’s history. Proceeds will support a new kids clubhouse, teen center (a healthy and fun environment where high school students can socialize), and lunchtime programs that will provide all kids with an opportunity for outdoor recreation. Guests watched a compelling video produced by Stephanie Serna, which illustrates the ways in which the organization helps families in need. “We are grateful for our community and very proud of our partnerships, which have helped us achieve and strive for new heights,” says Board President Bill Wood. —A.B.
