Laguna Beach Pet Parade & Chili Cook-Off Raises Funds for Local Animals
The Laguna Beach Pet Parade & Chili Cook-Off took place at Tivoli Too! Sept. 30 with a great turnout of adorable pets and chili lovers. Organized by the Laguna Board of Realtors and Affiliates, it raised more than $15,000 for the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter, Pacific Marine Mammal Center, the Blue Bell Foundation for Cats, Animal Crackers, and the Laguna Board of Realtors and Affiliates Charitable Assistance Fund. The best chili award went to Union Bank, Laguna Beach branch, and Team Laguna took home best booth. Dogs, a bird and a turtle strutted their stuff in front of judges, including actress Anne Heche and husband James Tupper of “Revenge” and “Men in Trees.” The pets were awarded first through third prizes in categories ranging from most handsome to best costume. —M.M.
