Preparing a dish of fine cuisine is as much an art as creating a grand painting or sculpture. Bringing these two talents together in an exclusive annual event, Palette to Palate was held June 12 at Laguna Art Museum as a fundraiser for arts education programs. During this celebratory night, 10 artists were invited to sit and dine with the guests at one of 10 tables, presenting their work alongside a culinary masterpiece prepared by Executive Chef Craig Strong of Studio at Montage Laguna Beach. Visitors sipped Tuscan blends from Olivi Winery with the expertly prepared meal. In addition to a live auction, all artwork was available for purchase, including other pieces displayed in the museum’s largest exhibit space, the Steele Gallery. The record-breaking event raised more than $230,000 to benefit the museum’s free elementary school tours, monthly music concerts, artist lectures, significant exhibits and more. (lagunaartmuseum.org)
