Nearly 3,000 visitors attended the Nov. 28 tree lighting and open house at Montage Laguna Beach. The event grows each year, as community members are treated to a free evening of holiday festivities at the oceanfront resort.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, sweets, cider and hot cocoa at the resort’s various dining establishments, including The Loft, Studio and Mosaic. For the kids, Santa was available for photos and wishes. In the ballroom, children also stopped in for balloon animals, crafts and face painting. The salon and shops were open and offered gift basket raffles as incentives for stopping by. Carolers dressed in old-time costumes also made the rounds.
Of course, the main event of the evening was the annual tree lighting of the large pine on the grassy bluff at 6:45 p.m.
For those who missed it this year, mark your calendars for next year’s event, which promises to be even more popular. —Micaela Myers[portfolio_slideshow]
