Wake up and smell the coffee at The Grove on Forest
By Ashley Burnett
The Grove on Forest is Laguna Beach’s newest coffee shop offering up brews from Equator Coffee & Teas, a sustainable fair-trade coffee company with several organic options. The cafe is owned by Kara and James Taylor, each of whom have a special connection to Laguna. Kara is an alumna of both Laguna Beach High School and Laguna College of Art & Design, while James formerly worked as a chef at Cafe Zoolu, the longtime local eatery that closed last spring. The pair spent several years in San Francisco and Venice Beach, but their new business in the heart of downtown Laguna has fulfilled a lifelong dream for the pair.
On the menu at The Grove are a bevy of coffee options, such as cafe au laits, iced mochas and macchiatos. The cafe also serves up breakfast and lunch, with standout items like the truffle egg toast and “When Ruby Met Harvi” panini. (949-472-1999; thegroveonforest.com)
Excellent coffee. A 5 star breakfast/lunch place in Laguna.
Warm, inviting and peaceful ambiance. Delicious and different food. – not the same “ol’ same ol'”
My doggie loves it too (:
