Crystal Cove Alliance’s Annual Gala Highlights Marine Conservation

About 450 members of the community gathered at CCA’s 10th annual gala on Sept. 22 to show their passion for marine preservation. Themed Ocean Treasures, the swanky soiree was held on the bluff-top of Crystal Cove, where guests enjoyed sunset libations and then moved into an “under water” tent for a gourmet dinner prepared by executive chefs of the Resort at Pelican Hill, Montage Laguna Beach and The Beachcomber Cafe, a fiery live auction and dancing to band music. Proceeds support the historic district restoration project (now two-thirds completed) and ongoing education and public programs. “While we have achieved incredible milestones since our inception in 1999, our work is far from over,” said Laura Davick, CCA founder. “Our gala is a great way for those who love Crystal Cove to look back and celebrate the many incredible accomplishments we have been able to achieve together, while also looking toward a future of continued preservation and conservation.” —A.B.
